Egypt: 5 million street vendors, half of whom are highly qualified

According to Al Watan newspaper, the number of street vendors in Egypt surpassed 5 million; 70 percent of them are young, while those with high qualifications represent about 50 percent.

The experts stress that the lack of a place allocated to these vendors is their main problem, as well as the lack of specific restrictions to regulate their labour market, pointing to the need to find large commercial markets in each province to allow them to work freely.
