A group calling itself "the Coordination of the Moroccan Authority's Auxiliaries" warned of the increasing number of the abuse incidents they were subjected to, during the month of Ramadan, accusing the Ministry of the Interior of being the responsible of such incidents. Moreover, they declared their rejection of "all forms of abuse, torture, humiliation and servitude, which have been subjected on them."
The coordination also renewed the call for the adoption of a basic law to regulate the work, in line with the rest of the security services.
It is noteworthy that several incidents of aggression were subjected on the authority auxiliaries, the last of which was with an authority auxiliary with the rank of lieutenant, from Amzmiz municipality, who was subjected to verbal and physical assault, and was transferred to the hospital in Marrakech for the necessary treatment.
The Minister of Interior, Abdel-Wafi Leftit has confirmed that the authority auxiliaries benefit from all the privileges granted to the state employees, noting that their financial situation improved between 2011 and 2016 by 55%.
The minister stated that the authority auxiliaries were divided into two sections: a functioning section in the urban area, which benefited from the same privileges as state officials such as seniority, compensation, compulsory insurance and compensation for work accidents, and another section operating in the rural areas with the same privileges but without retirement.
