In fact, large numbers of militias were hired to use live bullets and excessive force against the peaceful rebel protesters, which killed dozens of martyrs and wounded.
The forces of freedom and change called on in a statement "the honourable citizens from all the neighbourhoods of the national capital and the neighbouring areas to go out to march and protest in the streets to stop the massacre, defend the protestors and protect the gains of our glorious revolution."
It also called on "the honest people of our armed forces to confront the treacherous militias and defend the peaceful revolutionaries". It accused the military junta of being responsible for the security and safety of the protestors, stressing that " all members of the military junta will be held accountable for each drop of blood, and that we have our peaceful revolutionary regarding this escalation, which aims at aborting the revolution and its objectives. "
The Sudanese Professionals Association and the Declaration of Freedom and Change forces announced the cessation of negotiations and the full civil disobedience, as well as the activation of all the means of peaceful resistance in order to "overthrow the military junta council and the pro- oppressive regime."
Moreover, they called everyone to go out, in peaceful demonstrations and marches and to close all the streets, roads and ports in the corridors to paralyze the public, in support of the revolutionaries in the capital. Besides, they called them “to overthrow the military junta and to immediately transfer the power to a purely civilian transitional authority, in accordance with the Declaration of Freedom and Change, which has been approved by the people".
