Following its workers’ membership in the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CTD): the management of Maisadouragri – Maroc in Morocco layoffs the CTD general secretary

The management of Maisadouragri-Maroc, located in Awlad Taima in the French capital Taroudant province, decided to expel the CTD general secretary, Habib Al-Ansari, after his three-time provisional arrest and the issuing of warnings and subjecting him to hearings.

According to “Democratiaomalia” website, this decision came after the workers’ joining to the confederation and their establishment of a trade union office on 19 December 2018.

The website confirmed that the company started to restrict and violate the trade union freedoms and rights since the establishment of the trade union office.

The sources said that the workers of the company carried the protest badges for a week from 15 to 20 March 2019, in condemnation of this arbitrary decision, and organized a protest in front of the company's headquarters on 21 March. Then, they resumed carrying the protest badges for a week, starting from April 12th, accompanied by a protest vigil on 18 April 2019.

According to the abovementioned website, Habib Al-Ansari entered in a strike, where he has even slept in front of the company’s door at night, since April 18, and called on the company to withdraw its arbitrary decision, after the formation of a CTD trade union office.

The workers are preparing to escalate their protests, in case the officials insist on refusing the return of the general secretary to his work and his trade union practice.
