In an open letter: the international unions and political and human rights figures stand in solidarity with the Algerian and Sudanese revolutions

The Sudanese Professionals’ Association’s official Facebook page pointed out that several international trade unions, political and international human rights’ figures issued an open letter in solidarity with the Algerian and Sudanese revolutions and asked for the handover of power to a civilian authority.

Several trade unions around the world signed an open letter in solidarity with the Algerian and Sudanese revolutions. The letter called on trade union movements to express this support by organizing protests against the military, which cooperate with the regimes and the officials responsible for the human rights’ abuses, through their supplying with weapons and various means of repression.

The letter also urged the trade union movements to express their solidarity with the establishment of a civil democratic government in both Sudan and Algeria, and to reject any form of military rule in both countries.

The letter was signed by members of trade unions and parliamentarians, as well as professors and journalists from several countries, including Spain, Turkey, Greece, Germany, South Korea, South Africa, Canada and the United Kingdom.
