Delayed financial dues for Al Ghad newspaper employees in Jordan

The Jordanian Labour Observatory stated that a number of employees from the Jordanian newspaper, Al-Ghad, carried out a protest on Tuesday morning, in front of the newspaper building to protest against the newspaper’s administration's non-meeting of their demands.

The workers ask for the payment of the 13th salary, the amendment in the health insurance system, the payment of the three-year suspended annual renumeration, warning of taking escalatory measures, if their demands are not met.

In response to the workers' demands, the newspaper's management said in a letter that it is committed to pay the thirteenth salary in May and that it will pay it as soon as possible, as well as the provision of the annual increase, since the beginning of this year, which will be disbursed monthly with the compensation for the previous months.

As for the health insurance, the newspaper's management pointed out that it has provided 35 additional models for emergency cases for the journalists, in addition to the distribution of annual models, as confirmed by the Jordanian Labour Observatory on its official website.
