The “Agram Osar” and “Awam” mine workers in the “Tegze” region of Khenifra have been protesting against the Twist mining company about the procedures for occupational diseases insurance and the respect of the number of working hours per week, before they suspend their protest movement on Sunday, following an initial agreement with the administrative parties.
According to “Chams Post”, quoting a source in the Moroccan Workers’ Union, the suspension of the strike came on the basis of an agreement, that was reached during a meeting that included the assistant director of Twist Mining Company and the representatives of the Moroccan Workers’ Union.
The source added that the essence of the dispute was because of the insurance for occupational diseases, and the respect of the weekly working hours, where there was consensus on respecting the law requirements, and the insurance companies’ demands, as a preliminary step to the implementation procedure.
