The National Democratic Union of Finance of the Moroccan Workers’ Union decided to organize a protest, in solidarity with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, on May 21st, 2019 starting at 11 am, before the Ministry of Economy and Finance, at the central level and in front of the work headquarters at the local level, under the slogan "We are all Zouhair Charfi".
The National Democratic Union expressed in its statement, its solidarity with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Zouhair Charfi, against the threats of the private hospitals’ lobbies, which do not adhere to the law. In fact, they are exploiting the miserable health situation in the public hospitals and taking the citizens’ money; they are guilty of fraud, and tax evasion, based on data and figures announced by the Directorate General of Taxation.
The National Union asked the Directorate General of Taxation to publicize all the information and data on the actual contribution of the liberal professions in paying taxes, the list of private hospitals and private doctors who are evading tax-paying, as well as the non-submission to the pressures exerted by some lobbies, and to criminalize the non-paying of taxes through the issuance of new laws .
The union called on citizens to boycott the private hospitals and the private sector doctors who do not pay their taxes and refuse to get payed in checks in order to avoid any track of their incomes.
The union decided to recruit a group of lawyers to support Mr. Zouhair Charfi, in case that the National Association of private hospitals judicially follows him, along with the formation of a committee to follow up this issue and take all the necessary measures when needed, as well as to shed lights on the problem of tax evasion by some private clinics in Morocco.
