The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced that the total number of cases of work injuries reached 7136 during the first half of 2018, including 794 cases (11.1% )in the governmental sector, 3400 cases in the public sector(47.6%), while it reached 2781 cases (39%) in the private sector (enterprises having more than 50 workers).
The total number of cases of work injuries for males was 6520 cases by 91.4%, compared to 616 cases for females by 8.6% of the total number of cases for the first half of 2018.
The manufacturing activity had the largest percentage of the number of cases of work injuries, which amounted to 62.9%, followed by the transport and storage activities by 9.1% of the total number of the injury cases for the first half of 2018.
The highest percentage of work injuries was in the profession of technicians and assistants of specialists by 39%, followed by craftsmen by 16.8% of the total number of cases for the first half of 2018.
On the other hand, the highest percentage of work injuries (through falling) reached 31.6%, followed by collision) with 27.8% of the total number of cases of injuries in the first half of 2018.
The percentage of the cases of recovery without disability was 77.6% of the total number of cases, in addition to the percentage of the cases under treatment, which was 20.7% of the total number of cases, while the percentage of the cases of recovery with a disability reached 1.2% of the total number of cases, and the percentage of deaths reached 0.5% of the total number of cases.
