According to the local authorities in the province of Borkane, 16 irregular migrants from the sub-Saharan Africa were killed, on Saturday morning, while 17 others were injured with varying degrees of risk, after the turn-over of a medium-sized vehicle located in the secondary road between Saidia and Nadhor.
The local and security authorities and civil protection interests moved to the place of incident, where all the injured were transferred to the regional hospital in Borkane for the necessary medical care.
The authorities, started an investigation, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, to determine the circumstances and the details of the incident, as well as to reveal the reasons for organizing the irregular migration. Investigations are also under way to stop the driver of the vehicle, who is still at large.
