The General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions described the hosting of a delegation from the Zionist entity at an economic conference, that is scheduled to be held in the kingdom of Bahrain in April, under the Tamkeen Labour Fund as a suspicious and shocking invitation for the workers and people of Bahrain. The Tamkeen board called for the review of this step, which touches the Bahraini people, who support the Palestinian case and reject any form of normalization with Israel, in accordance with Palestine’s just demands and legitimate right to build its independent state with Al-Quds, as its capital.
The General Federation said in its statement that it is an independent and democratic trade union organization that expresses the conscience of the Bahraini workers in rejecting this step, which represents a great malaise to Bahrain and all its components, as well as the Arab and Islamic history and culture in which Bahrain has always been part, in rejection to the normalization with the Israeli enemy.
The General Federation pointed out that it is a member of Tamkeen's Board of Directors and that it its delegate has not been consulted on this suspicious move. Moreover, the General Federation has submitted an official letter to the chairman and the chief executive officer requesting an urgent meeting with the Board of Directors to discuss this issue, declaring its rejection of this invitation.
We may ask how could the suspicious delegation enter the Bahrain Kingdom without following the usual procedures of issuing entry visas and obtaining official approvals from the relevant ministries after the government’s declaration that they are among the countries which are prohibited from entering the kingdom.
The General Federation called upon all the political forces, civil society organizations and national NGOs to express by all the legitimate and legal means the popular position of Bahrain in rejection of this step, calling on the decision-makers to meet the people’s will.
