w6411 workers lost their jobs last month in Jordan

The official spokesman of the General Organization for Social Security said that the institution has informed 6411 insured of those entitled to get the dismissal allowance by text message, telling them to check the branches of the Housing Bank to receive their entitlements for unemployment allowance for the month of March, starting from the first Monday of this month.

He pointed out that the unemployment insurance started to be implemented on 1/9/2011 on the insured, covered by the provisions of the security law, except for the government employees, as well as the official and public institutions’ employees, members of the armed forces and security services, and the optional participants. Thus, the insured benefits from this insurance in case of unemployment and unless he/she has at least (36) subscriptions and that he/she is covered by this insurance in the last month prior to his/her unemployment. The unemployment allowance shall be paid to him/her in a period that does not exceed six months, according to the period mentioned in the insurance.

The workers benefit from the unemployment allowance for three times during the period covered by the insurance and unless that the subscription period is not less than (36) subscriptions, each time, where they get in the first month (75%) of the last salary they subscribed with, (65%) for the second month, (55%) for the third month, and (45%) for each of the fourth, fifth and sixth months, with a maximum of 531 dinars per month.

It is noteworthy that the foundation had previously called on the unemployed workers, who are covered by the insurance to ask for their unemployment allowance in case of the end of their services at the establishments they work in, unless they have directly joined an new work in other establishments to benefit from this insurance, until finding a new job opportunity, indicating that the insured workers benefit from the unemployment allowance throughout the whole period of their unemployment.
