On 28 March 2019, a number of unemployed people from Western Sahara from “Mhamid El Ghazalan” town entered in an open hunger strike to denounce the Moroccan authorities' denial of their demands for having a decent living.
This group of unemployed people from “Mhamid El Ghazalan” town have entered in many forms of peaceful struggle to ask for their rights, which were denied by the Moroccan authorities; which led the group to enter in a hunger strike as an escalatory measure to ask for their rights.
It should be noted that the strikers’ health is deteriorating as a result of the continued strike and poor health care.
