The Chairman of the Services Committee of the House of Representatives revealed that an agreement was reached to not to dismiss the Bahrainis from the public companies and institutions, after the reviewing of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company and the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions’ views. Thus, the committee decided to approve on the amended version of the proposal and submit it to the bureau to be presented in the House of Representatives’ agenda for the coming meetings.
On Monday, the committee discussed a bill for the amendment of Article (4) of Law No. (57) of 2006 regarding the establishment of the labour fund based on the proposed law submitted by the House of Representatives, after the reviewing of the MPs’ remarks, the opinion of the legislative and legal affairs committee, the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the legal advisor for the committees’ affairs. Moreover, it was decided to continue the discussion on the project, after the reviewing of the Tamkeen Labor Fund views, during the next meeting to take the decisions regarding this project.
The committee also discussed a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 13 of 1975 concerning the organization of pensions and retirement benefits for the government employees, in light of the proposed amended bill submitted by the House of Representatives, after the reviewing of the previous report of the committee on the proposed law in the fourth legislative article, the council’s legislative and legal affairs committee, in light of the views of the Supreme Council for Women, the General Authority for Social Insurance and the reaction of the public authority for social insurance regarding the amendment of the legal texts. Thus, it was decided to submit the report to the bureau.
The committee submitted to the bureau a report on a draft law amending certain provisions on the Social Insurance Law promulgated by the Legislative Decree No. (24) for 1976, which was issued based on the “amended” proposal of the law submitted by the House of Representatives.
