The National Union of the Social Development Agency decided to organize a national march accompanied by a strike in front of the Ministry of Family and the Department and the agency’s administration on 19 April 2019, in protest against the procrastination policy regarding the amendment of the basic system and the restrictions on the trade union freedoms.
In fact, the Social Development Agency of the Moroccan Workers’ Union has been engaged in protest movements recently against the Minister of the Family and the agency’s director, who insist on not clarifying the details associated with the amendment of the basic system on one hand and to start dissolving the agency on the other hand, in order to justify their non-involvement in the implementation of the previous agreements.
The National Union blamed the prime minster for being responsible of the agency’s current situation for his non-commitment to the implementation of the signed agreements and his violating of the principles of social dialogue, calling for the implementation of the agreements and the acceleration in the amendment of the basic system.
The union also denounced the random interrogations and selective deductions that have plagued the agency's activists as a desperate attempt to limit their protests and intimidate them, stressing the continuation of the protest movements in all the headquarters and the launching of regional gatherings, next Thursday.
