The Moroccan Journalists Syndicate of the Moroccan Workers’ Union asked to participate in the drafting of the regulatory law of the National Press Council through its membership in the National Federation, calling on the National Press Council not to deal selectively with the publishing code through focusing on some provisions and the neglecting of some others, especially the ones in relation to self-financing and freelance journalism.
This was during the meeting of the syndicate’s national office on Saturday at the central headquarters of the Moroccan Workers’ Union, in Casablanca headed by the National President, Anas Mureid, to discuss a number of current issues that concern the profession of journalism.
It is noteworthy that there are several problems and disagreements between the National Press Council and the media, especially the electronic ones, concerning the problem of convenience and the inclusion of journalists in the National Social Security Fund to obtain their professional journalist card.
The office called for the establishment of the Association of the Moroccan Journalists Syndicate’s Social Work, which will contribute to the solving of many of the workers’ social problems, in press and media.
