Hundreds of the owners and drivers of the public taxi strike in front of the House of Representatives to protest against the driving companies using smart applications, on Tuesday.
The Jordanian Labour Observatory reported that the “yellow taxi” owners asked for the determining of the number of vehicles working with smart application companies, the identification and control of pricing, and the suspension of offers, as well as the determining of the nationality of the car driver.
They also asked that the driver should have a public driving license and stickers on the vehicle and that the vehicle should only be used by its owner or close relatives and to abide by the vehicle type.
