Bringing foreign workers to the Emirati SME will only cost AED 300

The National Program for Small and Medium Enterprises and Projects of the Ministry of Economy announced that starting of this month, the cost of bringing foreign workers to companies of people adherent to the program will be reduced to only AED 300 for all categories, which was ranging previously between 3000 and 4000 dirhams, according to the category of the SME.

The program announced in media statements that according to an agreement with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the payment of the foreign workers’ recruitment fees for small and medium enterprises (SME) has also been running electronically through the program. Moreover, the system of inspection by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation of the citizens’ institutions changed. In fact, the license to bring workers is now obtained before the inspection of the establishment and not after, as it was before, indicating that the license is obtained, within five working days, instead of a period up to one month.

The cost of recruiting foreign workers for UAE nationals, small and medium-sized projects and enterprises, was reduced by 90 – 92.5%. Besides, the cost of bringing in foreign workers to small institutions fell to AED 300, uniformly for all categories, instead of a cost ranging between 3000 and 4000 dirhams previously, and according to the category of the establishment.

Under the terms of the agreement, the payment of foreign workers’’ recruitment fees to the Emirati small projects institutions has also started electronically by filling the required documents through the National Program for Projects.
