Education International and the educational unions in Morocco are committed to defend public education

The National Union of Education affiliated with the Democratic Confederation of Labour (CTD), the National Union of Higher Education and the National Union of Education of the Democratic Federation of Labour, issued the Casablanca Declaration from an international symposium organized by the International Trade Union Federation on the state's tendency to abandon the social role that imposes the public service security.

The declaration made by the three trade union organizations, at the press conference, organized by the Educational International last week at the central headquarters of the Casablanca Democratic Confederation of Labour highlighted that the state intends to share this service through the partnership mechanism, public / private, in order to "commodify and privatize it". In fact, this threatens the social and moral cohesion, promotes inequalities, as well as the unequal opportunities and deepens the social inequality.

The three trade unions declared their rejection of all the laws and procedures that had been passed and those which will be passed soon, which are aiming at eliminating the free education, introducing vulnerability to employment, promoting employment through contracts.

The three educational bodies of the Education International in the Casablanca Declaration expressed their determination to continue to work together to achieve a free public education for all.
