The Tunisian Minister of Social Affairs revealed that the phenomenon of common-law marriage has recently witnessed a large increase, with 1 200 cases, including 900 students.
The Minister pointed out, in statements to the local media, that the rate of illiteracy rose in Tunisia, as it reached 19.1 percent, i.e. the equivalent of 2 million Tunisian citizens are illiterate, 41.53% of which are working in the agriculture and fishing sector.
