The General Independent Confederation of Algerian Workers (CGATA) is in solidarity with the workers and journalists of Al-Chourouk media complex

The National Office of the General Independent Confederation of Algerian Workers (CGATA) confirmed its unconditional solidarity with the workers and journalists of Al-Chourouk media complex, who are suffering from poor social situation and are living under pressure to prevent them from respecting any journalistic ethics.

The National Office of the General Independent Confederation of Algerian Workers (CGATA) insisted on how the Algerian people surpassed their fears, and that journalists should regain their freedom and practice their profession baring their responsibility to defend the right of the Algerian people to have a free and fair press.

The National Office pointed to the extortion experienced by the other Algerian media through the threat of stopping the public funding and advertising, after the youth and people in the street broke the chains. Moreover, it called on workers and journalists in the media center to prepare a meeting to study the ways of cooperation with the General Independent Confederation of Algerian Workers (CGATA).

The National Office also urged other media officials to discuss how to contribute to the expansion of the margin of freedoms through a wise management of the advertising and publicity funds.
