The Democratic Confederation of Labour leadership insisted in its meeting, on Thursday, that the trial of the parliamentarian and the General Secretary of the National Union of Higher Education Employees, Abd-Al-Kader Hissen, along with four journalists, in what is known as, the case of leaking “The work ethic procedures of the Parliamentary Fact-Finding Committee regarding the Moroccan Retirement Fund” is considered as a political trial.
The trial court in Rabat decided on Wednesday, the February 27th, the rejection of all formal pleadings presented by the Advocates’ Office, and the access of the contents of the two CD-ROM. In addition, they called on the Fact-Finding Commission Committee’s Chairman, to be tried by the court.
The confederation considered in its statement that the judicial proceeding against” Hissen” is a political trial of the positions of the Democratic Confederation of Labor, and its struggling decisions. This trial is considered as a form of restriction on the trade unions’ freedoms, the national and political responsible positions. It expressed also its opposition to all forms of normalization that were expressed by the consultant Hissen, clearly in his position when he expelled the Zionist Minister Szymon Perski, after his presence in the parliament.
In its statement, the Executive Office renewed its solidarity with the parliamentarian, Hissen, and the executive broad member and the regional secretary of the confederation in Agadir, Abdullah Rahmoun.
He insisted that this political trial against them is targeting the confederation's struggle and the positions of the centralized policy, stressing in this context his sympathy with "all the detainees of social movement" and his demand of their release.
The union's statement considered that this trial is a vain attempt to divert the attention from the legitimate and just demands expressed by the Democratic Confederation of Labour, in which the confederation is fighting ongoing struggles to confront neoliberal, non-social, and non-democratic public policies.
The Executive Office decided to hold an exceptional meeting with its group on Wednesday (6 March), in Rabat. This date coincides with the date of the parliamentarian, Hissen’s, trial in the court of first instance in Rabat.
In its statements, the central government called on all the trade unions’ officials to enter into an overall mobilization in order to attend the trial session. Moreover, it called upon all the democratic, progressive and human rights organizations to support the central government, and to help it confront the infringement of human rights and social rights.
