The Agricultural Engineers’ Association in Basra organized their first protest, yesterday near the headquarters of the Directorate of Agriculture in Al-Ichar; in which dozens of its members participated asking the government to grant them more functional rights.
The protesters stressed the need to pay the engineering allocations and the allocation of housing lands, as well as the provision of job opportunities for the unemployed.
The protestors called for the compensation of the affected farmers, during the past years of the crisis of the salinity of water, asking the government to promote the agricultural sector in the province.
