Last Tuesday, the Women and Gender Department of the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions carried out a protest, in front of the Council of Ministers in the city of Ramallah, asking for the implementation of the minimum wage system and the cessation of violations against women in the workplace.
A large group of women, members of the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions, members of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Legislative Council, representatives of the International Labour Organization and civil society organizations participated in the protest to stress the necessity of forcing employers to comply with the law and activate procedures that would prosecute and bring the law barkers to justice.
