The National Union of the Social Development Agency of the Moroccan Workers’ Union announced the suspension of all forms of protest temporarily, after the meeting of its representatives on Thursday with the Minister of Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development, Bassima Al-Hikawi.
Trade union sources confirmed that the meeting between the Minister and the representatives of the General Secretariat of the Moroccan Workers’ Union and members of the National Office of the union, in addition to representatives of the administration of the National Agency for Social Development, discussed the current situation of the agency, its file and the amendment of the basic system, in particular.
The sources pointed out that the quadripartite meeting lead to another meeting next week, during which it will be agreed on the final version of the basic system draft and the preparation for its signature.
As for the agency's dissolution project, the union confirmed that the Minister of Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development, Bassima Al-Hikawi did not give a clear and definitive answer.
It is noteworthy that the members and employees of the Agency for Social Development have been engaged in strikes for months and organize protest vigils. The last two vigils took place in front of the Ministry of the Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development and in front of the Parliament, denouncing the delay in the amendment of the basic system and the reintroduction of the agency's dissolution project, as a result of the non-commitment of the administration to the outputs of a series of meetings on the file of the internal demands, including the amendment of the basic system, following the agreement of 27 June 2011.
