The Executive Office of the National Syndicate of Court Reporters, of the Moroccan Workers’ Union, announced that it will hold a national strike on the 18th, 19th and 20th of this month with a vigil in front of the Ministry of Justice on Monday, February 18, to protest against the marginalization and exclusion of workers in the sector since 2012.
The union calls for activating the reform adopted by the system of justice reform in its article 344 for more than four years and the immediate response to the urgent demands which are the only solution to ensure the court reporters’ living and professional stability.
The National Syndicate revealed in a communiqué the meeting held between members of the Executive Office and some officials of the Ministry of Justice, during which the Chief of Cabinet promised to start a serious dialogue next April, prompting the syndicate to suspend the strike and start a serious dialogue with the ministry.
However, the urgent demands were not welcomed by the ministry, which led the Executive Office to hold an exceptional national council on Tuesday, February 05, through which the reporters expressed their resentment regarding their fragile situation. Moreover, the Executive Office stressed the non-violation of the court reporters’ rights, stipulated by law number 49.00.
The National Syndicate expressed its adherence to the urgent demands, that would improve the court reporters’ poor living and professional life.
