The National Agency for Social Development unionists launched a strike, yesterday, and organized a protest outside the headquarters of the Ministry of Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development to denounce the ministry's procrastination to amend the basic system and re-launch the agency's dissolution project.
During their protest rally, the agency wore yellow jackets, chanting slogans that call for the settling of the agency’s problems and others condemning the ministry's non-commitment to its promises.
The secretary-general of the National Union of the Social Union, Raja Belakhel, from the Moroccan Workers’ Union, accused the Minister of the Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development and to the government of being responsible of the current situation, both because of their negative handling with the file and their disregard policy. Moreover, she highlighted that the minister comes with new projects to settle the same problems, each year, since 2012, which further disrupt the amendment of the basic system.
The secretary-general of the National Union for Social Development asked both the Minister and Prime Minister, Saad Eddin Al-Othmani, to bear full responsibility for the dissolution of the agency by ensuring the implementation of the provisions of the agreement of 27 June 2011.
For weeks, the National Agency for Social Development workers have been organizing strikes and vigils to protest against the conditions of the agency and then decided to launch a national strike on yesterday, which will be the beginning of a series of protests throughout the month, which they called the month of anger.
