The workers of the Moroccan Mauritanian Telecommunications Company, Mauritel Mobile, entered into a series of strikes starting from Wednesday, January 30, 2019, asking for the resignation of the company's general manager and a review of the partnership between Mauritania and Morocco Telecom.
The workers in Mauritel Mobile company sent a notice of strike to the management of the company on the tenth of last month, and announced that their strikes will take place on January 30, and on 06, 13, 20 and 27 February, and every Wednesday in March in case the workers’ demands are not met.
The workers accuse the company's management of refusing to sign a memorandum of agreement reached after negotiations with their representatives, calling for the meeting of a number of demands related to salaries, as well as, other rights.
