The Saudization rate in the Saudi private sector rose by 19.8% at the end of the fourth quarter of 2018, compared to 18.4% at the end of the same period of 2017, i.e. an increase of 1.4 percentage points.
The rate of Saudization in the private sector increased by 0.4 percentage points on a quarterly basis, compared to 19.4% in the third quarter of 2018.
The Saudi Arabia's social insurance data indicate that the rate of Saudization in the private sector has grown for the ninth quarter in a row, especially since the fourth quarter of 2016, reaching a 16-quarter high from 2015 to 2018.
The number of private sector employees enrolled in the social insurance system at the end of the fourth quarter of 2018 was about 8.6 million, of which 1.7 million Saudis and 6.9 million foreign workers. In fact, the number of foreign workers, that was recorded in the private sector, declined significantly, at the end of the fourth quarter of last year, according to the “Economic” newspaper
The number of Saudi males in the private sector amounted to 1.16 million, representing about 68% of the total number of the employed Saudis in the private sector, and about 14% of the total number of private sector workers (Saudis and foreigners) by the end of the fourth quarter 2018.
The Saudi females accounted for 542.4 thousand workers, representing about 32% of the total number of Saudi employees. They constituted about 6% of the total number of private sector workers (Saudis and foreigners) by the end of the fourth quarter 2018.
