Yesterday, the Sudanese opposition continued their movement, calling for the resignation of President Omar Al-Bashir and the formation of a transitional government following various protests carried out by unions, university professors, doctors, engineers and teachers.

Dozens of teachers tried to launch a protest in front of the Ministry of Education in Khartoum, in protest against the killing of their colleague Ahmed Al-Khair Awad Al-Karim, a teacher of secondary school in the city of "Khashm Al-Korba" last Saturday, under torture, according to his family.

However, the security forces intervened and dispersed the teachers and arrested several of them, according to party sources. Moreover, the police used tear gas to disperse the protest organized by the “Lawyers' Alliance” in front of the Supreme Court for the purpose of presenting a memorandum to the head of the judiciary against the violence practiced against the peaceful protestors and their torture in the security headquarters.

The doctors of “Ibrahim Malik Hospital “in Khartoum carried out a protest. However, the head of the hospital tried to prevent them and kicked them out of the hospital, according to doctors, while Al-Manaqil hospital in the center of Sudan witnessed similar protests, as well as the professors of Omdurman University, who held a vigil as well.

The Sudanese opposition’s rally organized a meeting for a general gathering in central of Khartoum, in solidarity with the victims of torture inside the security headquarters.
