The Committee for the Defence of the Trade Union Freedoms and Labour Rights confirmed during its meeting on Tuesday that since the trade unions’ resort to the Prime Minister for almost a month until today, the Ministry of Manpower did not respond to their memorandum, which dealt with the complaints of 29 trade union committees between the intransigence of the ministry in the process of reconciliation and the non-entering into elections for the other committees , which has reconciled their positions.
On Tuesday morning, the responsible following up the situation went to the Prime Minister where the Presidency of the Council has not received any responses from the Ministry, regarding the memorandum since it was sent by the council to the ministry in last January.
The attendees at the meeting of the Committee for the Defence of the Trade Union Freedoms and Labour Rights stressed the need to submit the memorandum to all the responsible parties and to explain the repercussions of the intransigence of the ministry and its impact on investment and employment opportunities.
The participants also discussed the need to follow up the draft labour law and prepare for the publication of their observations on its latest amendments, which was very formal and did not affect the essence of the original project, which was submitted by the government and had previous discussions in the House of Representatives, as the committee had put a set of observations on it, including job safety materials and remuneration materials.
