The Labour Observatory in Jordan said that dozens of employees at the Ministry of Communications carried out on Monday, 21 January, a strike in front of the ministry building to protest against the cancellation of bonuses and the establishments of new criteria for them.
The protesters stressed that the ministry has developed a system of promotion, that does not apply to many of them, which led to the reduction of their salaries, pointing out that they receive renumerations for more than 10 years and accordingly they took bank loans.
They asked for the restoration of the system as it was before, and not to violate their labour rights, in light of the difficult living conditions experienced by citizens.
