The Deputy General Secretary of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions said that the delegation of the Federation in the meeting of the Joint Committee with the Ministry of Labour discussed the latest developments in the companies "Bapco", "Gulf Air" and " Awal Gulf " and "Asry", and their impact on the interests and rights of workers , in light of reports on the reduction of employment in some of these companies through voluntary offers, or through layoffs.
The representatives of the union stressed the need to abide by the trade unions law, in respect of the trade unions’ legal personality and not to retreat from the agreements between unions and administrations, as well as, the need to the continuation of the stakeholders’ commitment to facilitate the payment of monthly union fees, explaining that any disruption exercised by the companies towards this deduction is a fight against the trade union action and a violation of the Trade Union Law.
