The National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists cancels the 14th January strike

The National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) cancelled the strike, which was scheduled on January 14 to protest against the deteriorating social and professional conditions of journalists, following an agreement signed on Wednesday between the syndicate’s president and the prime minister.

The agreement stipulates the allocation of a land for the National Syndicate of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) and the completion of all the relevant procedures by the stakeholders.

It also stipulated to take the necessary measures to title the syndicate its current headquarters, asking the parliament to accelerate in considering the issue of the public advertisement body, which includes the allocation of 05 percent of the publicity profit to the journalists' syndicate.

The government committed itself to fully support the hosting of the International Journalists’ Syndicate conference on 11, 12, 13 and 14 June 2019 on the progress of the Press Council and the public policy of the public media.
