The National Federation of Education and Training Workers decided to launch a strike through the educational institutions, after the winter holiday, and the date of the strike will be determined during the next meeting of the education unions scheduled for the seventh of next January.
This escalation comes in response to the policy of silence, indifference and disregard of the minister regarding the workers’ demands, closing the door of dialogue and refusing to grant the unions the license to hold their national councils.
The Federation denounced the provocative decisions taken by the ministry without the consultation of the unions like teaching on Saturday. It also warned of the consequences of underestimating the social partners, calling for the meeting of the workers’, the improvement of the purchasing power and the participation of trade unions in the drafting of the Labour Law, as well as, the implementation of the presidential decree on the reclassification of applied diplomas holders and to expedite the issuance of the special law as agreed upon in the work of the Committee for the amendments of the special law.
