The Yemeni Teachers' Union in “Al-Jawf” held a protest on Wednesday, in front of the Education Office in “Al-Jawf” governorate, to ask for a 30% increase in their salaries.
Members of the union told the media that their demand of the 30 percent increase is approved by the government and that is a legitimate right, just like in the other provinces, in addition to the payment of their salaries for the remaining five months of 2017.
The teachers threatened to stop the first semester summative tests if the above mentioned professional and social demands were not met.
