On December 20th, 2018, the Labour Court of Damietta Governorate ruled in favour of the Damietta Furniture Workers Union, by obtaining a certificate of completion of the procedures of conciliation on Saturday 12/5/2018 in accordance with the provisions of Law 213 of 2017 and its executive regulations.
This provision is the first to be issued in favour of non-governmental trade unions. Moreover, the labour departments in the courts have filed many cases to get the workers’ right to organize a trade union in accordance with the provisions of the law.
