The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company affirmed in its statement that three miners were killed, while 10 others were trapped underground, following the collapse of a gold mine while working, north of the country.
The company added that three others were injured in the incident that took place last Thursday in the region of "Qabqa", which is a major gold mining area in the Nile River governorate, where licensed companies and individuals work on exploring the precious metal.
The company, which oversees the Sudan's mining sector, said that the rescue teams had rescued the 10 workers and that their injuries were of varying degrees.
