Thousands of secondary school teachers gathered in Tunis on Wednesday in Habib Bourguiba Street in Tunis, announcing a day of anger in protest against the ministry's non-meeting of their demands and not making serious proposals to end this crisis.
The teachers organized a mass march from the General Secondary Education Federation of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) to the headquarter of the Ministry of Education in front of the Mohamed Ali square, in front of the headquarters of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), before heading to Habib Bourguiba Street in the center of Tunis.
"The protest of the white jackets comes in response to the government and the Ministry of Education’s non-meeting of their demands and not reaching any serious proposal to end the crisis." said the federation's general secretary, “Lasaad Yaakoubi”.
It is expected that the General Secondary Education Federation will hold an administrative body that will decide on escalating decisions if the ministry continues to refuse to respond to their demands related mainly to improving their living conditions by increasing bonuses and promotions, reforming the educational system and improving the infrastructure of schools and universities.
