Hundreds of daily-wage workers and temporary contract workers in Dhi Qar electricity departments announced their entry into an open strike to ask for their appointment.
The protestors confirmed that most of them have been working with temporary contracts and low wages for more than a decade, and that 75 percent of them work as daily wages and temporary contractual.
The daily-wage and temporary workers participate in the strike of Dhi Qar electricity power stations, including ”Nasiriyah” thermal power station, “Nasiriyah” gas station, the south-west networks and departments, like the other stations in the rest of the Iraqi provinces to ask for the implementation of the ministry's and government's commitments concerning their appointment.
