Dozens of janitors at the city council of “Al-Ziniyah” launched a strike, last Wednesday because of their referral to investigation.
Some trade union sources confirmed that the janitors and drivers of the mechanical campaign entered into an open-ended strike. This was due to the mayor’s pressure on workers to work overtime, although they received the approval of Saturday and Friday as holidays, like all the other workers.
The workers said that the mayor of the city council violated the former mayor’s decision by letting them work on the Fridays and Saturdays and insisted that there should be no holidays on these days.
