The teachers' union in” Hodeidah” province condemned the killings, torture and prosecutions of the teachers in the province, which are practiced by the Houthi militias.
“Tariq Sourour”, the teacher's captain in “Hodeidah” province, said that the Houthi militia executed four teachers. “Mohammed Ahmed Habit” from the directorate of “Hayes” was the last one to be killed as he was heading to his school on his motorcycle.
He pointed out that “Habit” is the fourth teacher executed by the militias in the province, in addition to dozens of abductees, detained people in private prisons and hundreds of persecuted, displaced and immigrants by the atrocities committed by the Houthi militias over the past four years. Moreover, all the “Hodeidah” teachers have been deprived of their salaries since the Houthi militias’ occupation of “Hodeidah” and their loot of its revenues and fortune, while the teachers are dying from starvation in their homes and schools.
“Tariq Sourour” said in a press announcement that the union is monitoring the killings, torture, kidnappings, arrests and starvation that are targeting teachers and that it is about to file a lawsuit on these violations on the teachers’ rights at home and abroad and to prosecute the perpetrators of these serious crimes.
