Following their protest against their dangerous working conditions: The Turkish security assaults the construction workers in Istanbul's new airport

The Turkish security forces fired teargas on Friday (September 14th) at the construction workers in Istanbul's new airport, who protested against their dangerous working conditions in the institution, which is expected to open next month.

The airport is located in the Black Sea. It is capable of handling 90 million passengers a year initially, and is expected to rise to 150 million by 2023.

According to “France Presse”, there were reports of a large number of deaths at the construction site, about 35 000 people working for 24 hours to finish the work on time, to open at the end of October.

Hundreds of workers protested against the working conditions, according to the private news agency, "DHA", and organized a protest in which they raised slogans calling for the settlement of their situation through finding a solution for the dangerous working conditions they work in, however, the security forces dispersed them using tear gas.
