The teachers' union announced its rejection of the new income tax law bill announced by the government of “Al-Razzaz”. It pointed out that this bill is part of a system of procedures, practices and policies that have been practiced by the successive governments for decades, which have led to the current high fictitious figures of indebtedness that would destroy the middle class.
The union pointed out that the current government’s introduction of the income tax law bill is "a useless amendment as it is making the situation even worse”. In fact, it is a corrupt and humiliating law for the Jordanians, as it exempts the banks and flirts with the very high income earners and companies. Moreover, the government is also trying to absorb the people’s anger and tension through dispersing them during the protests.
The union pointed out that this bill is part of a system of procedures, practices and policies that have been practiced by the successive governments for decades, which have led to the current high fictitious figures of indebtedness and taxes that have reached the infrastructure of the state, especially education and health. Consequently, this led to the emergence of a public debt that has almost devoured the public income and left “corrupted people, traitors, and thieves of the public money and resources” doing whatever they want, as they have been building their wealth over years to leave it to their families and children later.
The teachers' union said in its statement that there is no real will to save Jordan and the Jordanians from corrupted people and their domination over the economic, political and security decision in the state." No one has been held accountable for his corruption, or has even recovered the stolen money and state resources. In addition, we didn’t have a decent live within the high prices and taxes, in addition to the poor salaries, the spread of unemployment and drugs, and the absence of the rule of law ".
