The World Economic Forum (WEF) ranked the Maghreb countries in the index of respect for workers' rights for 2018, revealing that the kingdom of Morocco ranked 52nd in the world, while Tunisia ranked 60th, the 97th place for Mauritania and the 108th for Algeria.
This indicator is based on the international standards in the field of social protection, the right to join trade unions, the right to protest, the right to collective bargaining and the right to litigation.
