“Dr. Mahmoud Mahdi”, a gynecologist and obstetrician consultant at “Al Kharga” General Hospital in the New Valley, announced his entry into a hunger strike on Wednesday, in protest against his transfer to the Health Directorate.
“Dr. Mahmoud Mahdi” said in a media statement that he was surprised by the decision of his transfer from” Al Kharga” hospital after he worked as the head of the obstetrics and gynecology department to exercise administrative functions as the director of the Family Planning Department in the Directorate, although that he did not commit any administrative error. He clarified: "I was transferred for no reason and without even being investigated, although I have spent my life doing my best as the head of the obstetrics and gynecology department."
