Similar to the public sector group, the public work complex of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) decided to report the proposal of a general strike in the public service sector to the national administrative board, scheduled for September 20, which is supposed to take the decision about the general strike in the public sector and the public work complex.
The members of the public work complex said at their meeting last Monday that the government is delaying the implementation of wage increase demanded to protect the purchasing power of workers in the sector and is lagging behind in the ongoing collective negotiations, as it is supposed to decide about the increase of the public workers by September 15, according to the previous agreement between the organization's leadership and the government of Youssef-Al Shahid.
In their final statement, the members of the public work complex condemned the attack on the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) by parties, who seek to abandon and sell the national companies in compliance with foreign dictates and pressures, led by the International Monetary Fund.
