The International Campaign of boycotting the UAE revealed on Sunday the corpse of an Asian worker, who has been found with signs of violence, rape and murder in “Jebel Ali” area in Dubai.
A citizen confessed his killing of the Asian worker and the hiding of his body in “Jebel Ali” with the help of his relatives. The suspect said that he and some of his relatives ambushed the Asian worker after a verbal altercation between them and then, they sexually assaulted him and wrapped a rope around his neck, causing his death.
The international campaign called on the human rights organizations to pressure Dubai to enact laws protecting the rights of foreign workers in the humanitarian field, stressing that Dubai abuses foreign workers in the UAE and violates the international human rights treaties and conventions on a daily basis.
The campaign revealed that workers were afraid to report such violations to the authorities because the Dubai authorities had always threatened to deport them to their countries or to detain them in prisons.
In fact, the law requires the foreign worker to obtain the sponsor's permission in everything related to his life and work in the UAE.
