The coordination committee for educational professions in the southern governorates announced a comprehensive general strike in all schools and educational offices starting from Sunday (September 9th) to ask for better living and financial conditions for the teachers and workers of the sector.
It is known that the government approved on the wage increase, starting from this month by 30 percent. However, the workers of the sector stated that this increase does not meet their expectations and ambitions, in light of the poor economic situation in the country and the significant imbalance between the riyal and the other currencies.
Moreover, the trade union party asked for the suspension of the wage task until the settling of the price imbalances between the riyal and the other currencies, in addition to the transfer of the annual bonuses to the date of legal entitlement, in accordance with the law, while working on settling the status of retirees and the payment of the delayed salaries.
