The strike carried out by more than 400 workers, continues to work in “l’Appetissante Tom” factory of biscuits located in “Manouba” province, in a tent in front of the headquarters of the factory.
According to “Tunis Afrique Presse”, The strike continued because of the faltering efforts to find solutions and the violation of agreement announced after the negotiation session on August 14, which stipulated the return of the factory to work on 15 August.
The protestors protested against the administration's insistence to punish eight workers, including trade unionists, through the disciplinary board, accusing them of "verbal and physical violence." The workers considered these were fake charges and that it is a deliberate intention to expel them from their work altogether, prompting them to violate the agreement and continue their open-ended strike.
